So Much More Than a just Tequila Food Tour!
The Tacos, Tequila y Lotería Tour with Victor was hands down the most fun we had in San Miguel de Allende! Chef Victor is hilarious, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. He makes you feel like you’re exploring the city with a foodie friend who knows everyone and everything. The tacos were amazing, the tequila tasting was legit (we actually learned how to taste it properly!), and the energy of the whole night was just fantastic. But the real surprise? The Mexican Lotería game! It wasn’t just cute, it was interactive, cultural, and SO much fun. And the prizes were actually impressive! We won great discounts to some of the most famous and delicious restaurants in San Miguel. Not cheap souvenirs… real perks! This tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Book it. You’ll leave full, happy, and probably laughing.

A delicious tour experience!
What a wonderful, and delicious, experience! Our guide was former chef and has lived in San Miguel de Allende for a long time. This program was organized for our tour group, so the walking tour began at our hotel, starting with the restaurant across the street. In each of our four stops, tables were reserved for us and the food came quickly. The commentary was excellent and we were even shown the “Mexican” (ie: right) way to eat a taco. I would do this tour again.

Food fun in San Miguel
This tour is great. Our guide victor was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions about Mexican cuisine. We visited several restaurants and plan to go back to them soon. We tried several moles, tortilla soup, barbacoa, ice cream and churros. Each dish was delicious and I told the chef that I’d eat her green mole every day! So good.

Great food and excellent Mexican food history with Chef Victor❤️
We joined this food tour in San Miguel de Allende and it ended up being a highlight of our trip to Mexico. Everything was well organized, the pace was relaxed, and we always felt safe and taken care of. Our chef‑guide, chef Victor was amazing. Victor didn’t just point out dishes; he explained how they’re prepared, which ingredients are truly local, and how families here really eat. You can feel how passionate he is about Mexican food and his job of being a tour guide. We tasted everything from Soup, Chilies en Nogada, Jicama Taco and finished with tasting Mexican chocolate. Places we never would have found on our own. My favorite stop was at El Pegaso Restaurant and we appreciated that Victor offered alternatives to one of us who had food allergies. The group size small it felt like a private tour, and we learned so much about the history and culture behind the food without ever feeling rushed. It felt like spending the day with a very talented friend who knows all the secrets of the city. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves food and wants a more authentic experience in SAN Miguel de Allende. If you can, book a tour with chef Victor, you’ll leave full, happy, and with a new appreciation for Mexican cuisine.

Victor was my very capable, knowledgeable, and friendly guide for the evening. He is a chef who had his own restaurant for the better part of a decade. He knows Mexican cuisine as if he taught it at a university. He understands the rich culinary traditions of Mexican cuisine and its fine ingredients. He knows the science of these ingredients and appreciates the creativity and artistry of delicious food, be it fine dining or street food. Victor is also a warm and friendly host who is fun to visit with and discuss all things food. On my food tour, I had him all to myself: a private tour through the streets of San Miguel.
There is not a lot of walking, but there are quite a few stairwells, as there is everywhere in town, and there is definitely great food! The restaurants we visited are all ones you are unlikely to find on your own. The dishes we had were unique and delicious and strongly Mexican in the best possible way. We had 5 different dishes at 5 different restaurants along our little walk. Victor knew everyone who worked at all these places, so our service was impeccable, and his culinary choices were very well planned. In this review, I don’t want to tell you about any of these dishes. I think you should be surprised, and I think you should have each of these dishes introduced by Victor for proper appreciation, description, and culinary relevance to Mexico’s incredible culinary heritage! This is a trip highlight for sure. My one suggestion: don’t eat lunch before you go on this culinary adventure - you will be very well fed!

This is an unforgettable experience you must do while you’re in San Miguel.  I live here part time and flying from the United States frequently. Every time I bring friends here I ask for Victor and take them through this wonderful evening of great food and history about San Miguel. The most special part is Victor the tour guide! There are so many things to see and do in San Miquel de Allende, but we can say one of our most memorable experiences has been the food tour with Victor. Actually, TWO of our most enjoyable experiences as we went back a second time. And yes, we plan to take our visiting friends on future tours as well. Victor's knowledge is very apprarent, and his enthusiasm shines through. It is a learning experience that is also a gastronomic delight.
